Help Us to Save More Lives Adquiring an Ambulance in Nicaragua

Your donation will help a child in trouble….

Apreciado Amigo de la clinica,

Last month we received bad news from our non-profit health clinic near Tola, Nicaragua. Dr. Flores helped deliver a premature newborn. The baby was 26 weeks old and the mother’s health was not the best. She was scared and nervous. Her son needed neonatal intensive care. Unfortunately, our clinic was not equipped to deal with the baby’s immediate need for special care. Furtunarelly our new ambulance was available and she was able to arrive to the Rivas hospital savely. Dr. Flores and the nurses, managed to transfer the woman and the baby to the main hospital in Rivas, 45 minutes away.

At the Roberto Clemente Santa Ana Health Clinic we try our best to save lives and improve the quality of health in this remote community. But sometimes we find ourselves too short on resources.

Apreciado Amigo de la clinica,

At the Roberto Clemente Santa Ana Health Clinic we try our best to save lives and improve the quality of health in this remote community. But sometimes we find ourselves too short on resources.

The good news is that since the clinic opened in the summer of 2004, the team has saved more than 45 lives with triage care, delivered 11 healthy babies, helped thousand of residents prevent infections, educated the community on preventative health care, and responded quickly to local emergencies effecting hundreds of local workers and families.

You can participate in our campaign to acquire funds to maintain the ambulance for the clinic. We need money to pay the driver gasoline and other expenses. Having an ambulance has been one of our best investment.

The full cost of this vehicle was approximately $40,000, We still need money to pay for this vehicle.

To reach this goal we will need 40 people to donate $1,000 each or 80 donations of $500.

Respiratory ailments are common in this part of Nicaragua... dust from unpaved roads and pesticides from crops contribute to chronic conditions that affect children and adults alike.

Your donation will help to provide an ever increasing array of services to the locals and visitors of the region:

  • We are now open every day, with services available on a 24-hour/7-days-a-week basis (up from nine hours a day, 3-5 days/week last year).

  • Just one year ago, the Clinic served the two local villages of Limón I and Limón II. Now, the people of 41 area villages up and down the Nicaragua's Pacific coast benefit from Clinic services, as well as tourists, employees and residents of nearby Rancho Santana and other developments.

  • Despite the challenges of muddy, impassable roads, the Clinic record was set when Dr. Flores and his team attended 8,200 patients last year.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have any other ideas about how to help our clinic and the communities it serves please do not hesitate to contact us by sending an email to: clinic @ nicaclinic.org or calling at 410-777-8626.

Very sincerely,

Chair
